Support & DevOps

Infrastructure That Never Sleeps

Building is only the beginning. Codanum offers ongoing technical support, cloud infrastructure setup, and DevOps services to keep your systems running at peak performance. Whether you need a VPS configured and hardened, a CI/CD pipeline that deploys with zero downtime, or a monthly maintenance retainer to handle bug fixes and platform updates, we are your long-term technical partner, not a one-time vendor.

What We Deliver

Most software projects fail not at launch, but six months after launch, when the team that built the system has moved on, dependencies have gone out of date, the hosting environment has drifted from its original configuration, and the first serious bug arrives without anyone qualified to fix it. Codanum's Support & DevOps practice exists to prevent that outcome. We offer structured engagement models that keep your systems maintained, monitored, and ready to scale. On the infrastructure side, we set up and manage VPS environments on DigitalOcean, Hetzner, or AWS EC2. We handle Nginx configuration (reverse proxy, SSL termination via Let's Encrypt, HTTP/2 and brotli compression), UFW firewall rules, fail2ban intrusion prevention, and automated backup schedules to S3-compatible storage. Every server we set up is documented: configuration, access credentials management (via Vault or SSM Parameter Store), and runbook for common operational tasks. For CI/CD, we configure GitHub Actions pipelines that build, test, and deploy on every merge to main. Zero-downtime deployments via blue-green or rolling strategies. Automatic rollback triggers on deployment failures. Container-based deployments with Docker Compose or Kubernetes for teams that need orchestration at scale. Monitoring is non-negotiable. We configure uptime monitoring (UptimeRobot or Better Stack), application error tracking (Sentry), infrastructure metrics (Datadog or self-hosted Prometheus/Grafana), and alerting to Slack and email with severity routing. You know about problems before your users do. Our maintenance retainers are transparent: a fixed monthly fee covers a defined number of support hours, all dependency updates, security patch monitoring, monthly performance reports, and a guaranteed response SLA for critical issues.

Our Process

01

Infrastructure Audit

Review of your existing hosting, security posture, deployment process, monitoring coverage, and dependency health.

02

Environment Setup

Server provisioning, Nginx configuration, SSL, firewall rules, backup schedules, and access credential management.

03

Pipeline Configuration

GitHub Actions CI/CD setup with build, test, staging, and production deployment stages. Zero-downtime deployment strategies.

04

Monitoring & Alerting

Uptime monitoring, error tracking (Sentry), infrastructure metrics, and Slack/email alerting with severity routing.

05

Ongoing Retainer

Monthly support hours, dependency updates, security patches, performance reports, and priority SLA for critical incidents.

Common Questions

Q: What does a maintenance retainer include?

Typically: bug fixing up to X hours/month, dependency updates, security monitoring, monthly performance report, and a priority response SLA (usually < 24 hours).

Q: Can you set up monitoring and alerts?

Yes, we configure uptime monitoring (UptimeRobot, Better Stack), error tracking (Sentry), and performance monitoring (Datadog or self-hosted Grafana) with Slack/email alerting.

Q: Do you work with existing DevOps setups?

Absolutely, we audit and integrate with your existing infrastructure rather than forcing migration. We adapt to your stack, not the other way around.

Q: What is your response time for critical incidents?

Retainer clients get a guaranteed response within 4 hours for P1 (site down / data loss) incidents and within 24 hours for P2 (significant degradation). Response time SLAs are specified in the retainer agreement.
